Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 70th birthday i.e Thursday, 11 October. It was a grand celebration with all the Bollywood's who-is-who and the Political biggies attending the bash in full attendances. Gifts poured in from all four sides. However, there was one very special and peculiar present gifted to Big B, which became a big talk in the industry. PETA gifted a formerly oppressed and now liberated bullock named Vijay.
Why Vijay?
Well, Vijay, the bullock was named after Amitabh Bachchan's many characters by the same name in some 20-odd movies.
It's no top secret that Big B is a pure vegetarian and has even been titled the 'Hottest Vegetarian Celebrity' for three years by PETA, India. Naming the bullock after the actor's most popular screen name was only an honor to Big B.
Tells PETA India CEO Poorva Joshipura, "Mr Bachchan and Vijay the bullock have something in common: they are both very handsome fellows", "The gift of a namesake is also fitting because, as a vegetarian, Mr Bachchan saves animals' lives by not eating them. Vijay the bullock has been given a new lease on life – the heavy loads that he once pulled have been lifted from his shoulders for good."
In the meantime, here is what Mr Sr. Bachchan had to say about the splendid birthday bash.
"Kindness, grace affection a warm smile put together and shaken, can prove to be the most potent love potion…I am drenched in it! Genuine affection can never be hidden … give it once and experience the results… its no storm or cyclone, it's a space emission!"
